In the end it's become a replacement for my PDA. I am lucky because I only wanted a tablet as an E-reader. why should they be pushed out of the market? (But then maybe that's the point.) Alternative vendors also offer decent products. I want to buy something on the basis of what hardware it has and how much it is. You could say 'why don't you use a supported device?' And I say 'why should I?' Why should I have to pick something on the basis of what's 'supported' and what's 'not'. It's like Windows saying 'you can use Windows but if you have a budget laptop you can't use Office.' A lot of people complain that they feel like they've been abandoned by Google because they refuse to sell to their device but they don't mind devices being sold with their OS. I think there's a HUGE market for apps on unsupported devices. I can use SlideME, Opera app market and appslib but that's about it. My device is not supported by Google play, as are many budget tablets etc, and there are few markets that sell good apps to the unsupported market! I can't use Amazon as they don't sell in the UK.
